3 Bean Turkey Chili

1 lb lean ground turkey (brown in 1T coconut oil)
1- 15 oz can Bush's Great Northern Beans
1- 15 oz can Bush's Pinto Beans
1- 15 oz can Bush's Black Beans
1- 10 oz can Rotel Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies
1- 16 oz jar Pace Chunky Salsa (your choice of heat)
1 cup water
*2 tsp Mexene Chili Powder (I didn't add this this time because my hubby doesn't like it spicy)

Brown the ground turkey in a large skillet and strain. Then add all ingredients into a large pot and cook over medium heat.

I chose these brands, because they do not contain added sugars. I didn't use Bush's kidney beans, because they had sugar, bummer. You could certainly go with other brands, or better yet, organic choices. You could also add other things, like fresh chopped onions. My hubby is used to his chili with spaghetti noodles in it, but I didn't add that because I can't have pasta on the SBD.  Corn is also good in the chili, but again that's not something I can have on my diet right now. I like cheese, but my husband doesn't, so I add a half slice of fat free cheddar cheese to my bowl. It's pretty good.  If you try my recipe, let me know what you think? Or, if you have your own suggestions on what I could add, let me know. Thanks!

  1. I will have to try this. My son is a huge fan of chili. I was buying turkey chili in a can (not sure what brand), but I can make this and freeze it. Thanks.
