This past week I only lost 1 lb, that comes out to 5 lbs total since I started my diet 3 weeks ago. I think part of my problem is that I skipped breakfast and snacks most of the week and hardly exercised. I've had rough mornings with my allergies and have been exhausted most days. I also haven't taken my vitamins regularly this past week either, nor my allergy medicine.
On Friday, I picked up some ice cream at the store. I haven't had chocolate in over 3 weeks and I figured it wouldn't kill me to indulge a little. Did you know that those little ice cream tubs have 4 servings in them? Who eats just a half a cup of ice cream? I think I may need to find a different chocolate indulgence, something healthier... any ideas?
I will try much harder this week, even though we are on Spring Break. However, I do plan another "cheat" day on my Birthday next week on Monday, and I am sure looking forward to it!
Of course I have a suggestion: http://ohsheglows.com/2010/12/02/chocolate-dipped-chocolate-chip-cookie-dough-balls/
ReplyDeleteThis is Burke's and my favorite treat recipe and it really is quite healthy. I leave out the chocolate chips and instead of cashews I use a mix of sunflower+flax+sesame seeds and almonds. I'm sure cashews would make the texture closer to what it is supposed to be, but we don't know what we're missing so we don't mind (they are INSANELY expensive/hard to find in Slovakia). Also, I think these cookie balls are best out of the freezer so maybe that will help you keep them out of mind?:)
Good luck, happy birthday:)
Wow! I love all the recipes she has on her blog. Thanks for sharing. =)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog Briana! I do share your same questioning to the portion sizes for ice cream. No one I know can only eat 1/2 cup of ice cream, it's just too darn tasty! I've stopped purchasing ice cream because it can get addictive for me, but it is definitely OK to indulge yourself every once in a while! :)
